Inabie presents innovative school menu for the 2026-2027 period
The National Institute of Student Welfare (Inabie) has revealed its new food strategy for the 2026-2027 school year, which promises to transform the nutritional experience of students in the Extended School Day. The proposal stands out for the inclusion of traditional Dominican dishes, combined with a balanced selection of proteins, cereals, legumes, and fresh products.
Variety and nutrition in every dish
The planning, based on rigorous technical and nutritional criteria, seeks to ensure that students receive the essential nutrients for their academic and physical development. Among the options that will be part of the daily diet are:
- Assorted meats and fish such as sardines.
- Cereals and legumes, highlighting rice and red beans.
- Fresh vegetables in carrot and cabbage salads.
- Seasonal fruits such as ripe banana, mandarin, and avocado.
Featured menu items
For the first few days of classes, the institution has planned menus that include rice with vegetables, stewed chicken thigh, and protein options such as baked eggs with vegetables. In addition, the program highlights the incorporation of iconic and nutritious dishes to vary the offerings:
The menu highlights preparations such as pigeon pea sancocho with pork dough, ripe plantain pastelón, and chicken fajitas with peppers, designed to provide a complete and balanced dining experience.
With this initiative, Inabie reaffirms its commitment to the well-being of the student community, ensuring that educational centers have quality supplies that cover the basic needs of children and young people during their time in the classrooms for the next school year.
