INABIE activates protocols following health incidents at an educational center in Villa González
The National Institute of Student Welfare (INABIE) has activated its immediate response protocols after it was reported that 22 students from the Fernando Valerio Educational Center, located in the municipality of Villa González, experienced gastrointestinal discomfort during the school day this Tuesday.
After presenting symptoms, the students were taken to the local municipal hospital, where they received timely medical attention. According to official reports, all were discharged to their homes and are currently in stable health conditions.
Supervision and sample analysis actions
Given the situation, INABIE technical teams immediately moved to the school to carry out the necessary evaluations. As part of the quality control procedure, the institution proceeded to collect samples of the school breakfast, specifically of the milk served, to subject them to rigorous laboratory analysis.
So far, the institution has not established that the product was the cause of the gastrointestinal discomfort presented by the students, so the results of the analyses are awaited.
Preventive measures adopted
With the aim of safeguarding the health of students and maintaining the continuity of the School Feeding Program (PAE), the following measures have been taken:
- Immediate substitution of pasteurized milk with UHT (Ultra High Temperature) milk in the affected educational center.
- Optimization of the handling and preservation of dairy products, eliminating the dependence on refrigeration.
- Maintenance of permanent supervision and quality control mechanisms for all school supplies.
