Grupo SID is awarded the highest honor at the Export Excellence Awards

On a night dedicated to highlighting the commitment and quality of the national productive sector, Grupo SID was honored with the Great Dominican Exporter award. This recognition, presented during the fortieth edition of the Export Excellence Awards, highlights the company’s trajectory and impact on strengthening the Dominican economy globally.

The ceremony, which took place in the Carlos Piantini hall of the Eduardo Brito National Theater, was presided over by the President, Luis Abinader, who personally presented the award to the executives of Grupo SID, Ligia Bonetti and Roberto Bonetti. The event was also attended by directors of the organizing entity, government officials, and prominent business leaders of the country.

A recognition of export diversity

The fortieth edition of these awards celebrated four decades of history, recognizing a total of 11 companies and representatives who have demonstrated excellence in their respective sectors. Among the award winners were:

  • Diesco Industries: Industrial Export Excellence.
  • La Aurora: Excellence in Free Zones.
  • Eurofresh Dominicana: Agricultural Excellence.
  • Recursos Globales: Distinction in the SME category.
  • Creative industries and services: Recognitions for Rayuela Kids, Moro Studio, Snenie, Intellisys D Corporation, and Raquel Wellness.

The growth of our exports is a reflection of the joint work between the public and private sectors. We have gone from exporting 973 million dollars in 1986 to reaching historical figures that exceed 10 billion in the first eight months of this year.

Karel Castillo, president of the organizing entity.

Figures that mark a milestone in foreign trade

During the event, it was highlighted that the Dominican Republic currently has 3,629 companies that take their products and services to 165 international markets. The sector has shown remarkable dynamism, moving from modest exports in the late 80s to consolidating itself as a fundamental pillar for job creation and the development of local suppliers.

For her part, the executive vice president of the institution, Roselyn Amaro Bergés, emphasized that the current challenge is to continue expanding the export base. The key, as she indicated, lies in the ability of companies to integrate technology, services, and creativity into their growth strategies, always relying on world-class competitiveness standards.

The evening concluded with a high-level artistic performance, including the participation of the Philharmonic Orchestra and the renowned singer Maridalia Hernández, thus celebrating a 40-year legacy of promoting the success of Dominican brands abroad.
