Alleged vehicle sale scam reported: Arrest warrant issued for Luis Arturo Vásquez Muñoz

A citizen has raised her voice to denounce an alleged scam of which she was a victim during 2023, after entrusting her vehicle to a man under the promise of a secure sale. The affected party, identified as Silvia María De Los Santos, told Alofoke Deportes that the process ended in financial and legal harm against her.

According to the complainant’s testimony, she was out of the country when she handed over her car and all relevant documentation to Luis Arturo Vásquez Muñoz. The individual, who claimed to work at a car dealership, offered to manage the sale of the asset, but, according to the victim’s version, he took advantage of the situation to carry out irregular procedures in his favor and illicitly appropriate the vehicle.

Breach of agreement and legal action

The situation escalated to judicial instances. According to the documents collected by our team, the victim attempted to resolve the conflict through a formal agreement before the Public Prosecutor’s Office. However, given the repeated failure to comply with the agreed terms by Vásquez Muñoz, the competent authorities proceeded to issue arrest warrant number 973-2025-EMES-07536.

The affected party urgently requests the intervention of the National Police and the Public Prosecutor’s Office to ensure compliance with the court order and to achieve the capture of the accused, who continues to evade the responsibilities derived from this case.

This case highlights the importance of verifying the reputation and legality of the individuals to whom sales processes are delegated, especially when the owners are outside the national territory.
