Fedobalon boosts handball development with new training camps
With the goal of strengthening the future of this discipline in the country, the Dominican Handball Federation (Fedobalon) began a series of formative mini-camps at the Parque del Este pavilion. This initiative is specifically designed for boys and girls in the 10, 12, and 14-year-old categories, seeking to capture new talent from an early age.
The session was led by the technical directors of the women’s national team, who are currently training through the Handball Coaches School. During the camp, the young athletes worked on essential technical fundamentals and basic game concepts, which are key elements for their athletic growth.
A program with national reach
Miguel Rivera, president of Fedobalon, confirmed that these training sessions will become a constant. The federation has planned to carry out these activities every weekend, guaranteeing a continuous instruction process.
The goal is to expand the training and talent detection process across different categories, taking this program to the various provinces of the country in coordination with local associations so that more children can access this discipline.

Structure for sports success
This strategy seeks to establish a solid structure that allows for the identification and preparation of future members of the national teams. The success of this project depends on the joint work between:
- The Dominican Handball Federation (Fedobalon).
- Provincial handball associations.
- The coaching staff of the national teams.
- Coaches specialized in grassroots training.
With these actions, Alofoke Deportes highlights Fedobalon’s commitment to popularizing handball and establishing a pipeline of athletes with the potential to represent the country in future international competitions.
