“Plant Your Town” reforestation program promoted in Santo Domingo Oeste

The Special Fund for Agricultural Development (FEDA) and the Santo Domingo Oeste City Council have joined forces to launch the “Siembra tu Pueblo” (Plant Your Town) initiative. This environmental project has as its main goal the planting of 10,000 trees in 12 sectors of the municipality, seeking to transform the urban environment through the recovery of green areas, the reduction of pollution levels, and the optimization of public spaces.

The initial phase of this plan began with the formal delivery of 2,000 plants by the FEDA, marking the start of a strategy that will gradually incorporate the remaining 8,000 units to complete the established goal. The inaugural event took place on the central median of the 27 de Febrero Avenue extension, a strategic point in front of Plaza Bohemia, and was attended by the executive director of the FEDA, Hecmilio Galván, along with Mayor Francisco Peña, as well as community leaders and institutional representatives.

Commitment to the environment and social development

During the launch, Hecmilio Galván emphasized that the initiative is part of a national effort to promote reforestation, underscoring that environmental protection is a fundamental pillar for the development of communities.

Today we begin this reforestation day, which is being carried out throughout the country with the goal of planting trees in green areas to reduce pollution and beautify the environment, which allows for social development.
