Technical incident affects the operability of the Santo Domingo Metro
The Metropolitan Transport Company (EMT) reported a service interruption on the Metro this Tuesday afternoon, September 15. The issue, caused by a technical failure at the García Saleta substation, resulted in a power loss in the catenary that forced the limitation of normal train movement in a specific section of the network.
According to the official report issued by the institution, the incident was recorded at approximately 6:47 in the evening. As a preventive measure to safeguard the integrity of the users, circulation was suspended between the Pedro Bonó and Ramón Cáceres stations, while specialized teams evaluate the exact causes of the electrical failure.
Partial operation scheme
To minimize the impact on citizen mobility, the EMT has implemented a partial service scheme while repair work is being carried out:
- Service 1: Operation from Pablo Adón station to Pedro Bonó station.
- Service 2: Operation from Ramón Cáceres station to Concepción Bona station.
