Education kicks off the 2026-2027 school year with a call for punctuality
The Ministry of Education has formally opened the 2026-2027 school year, marking the beginning of a new academic cycle with the goal of raising teaching standards across the country. The official ceremony, held at the Espejo La Milagrosa Primary School in Santo Domingo East, was attended by President Luis Abinader and the Minister of Education, Luis Miguel De Camps.
Oscar Amargós, Vice Minister of Supervision and Control of Educational Quality, highlighted that the success of this period depends directly on the rigorous compliance with the school calendar. According to the official, the authorities have dedicated the last four months to exhaustive planning to ensure that educational centers are ready to receive students.
Fathers, mothers, and caregivers must take their children to school, because every day counts; every hour of class is fundamental to the learning process.
