Education begins the 2026-2027 school year with optimism
The Dominican educational system has officially started the 2026-2027 school year, with authorities ensuring that educational centers are in optimal conditions to receive the student community. Ayacx Mercedes Contreras, Vice Minister of Planning of the Ministry of Education, affirmed that the country is prepared for this new academic challenge.
During the opening ceremony held at the Espejo La Milagrosa Primary School, located in Santo Domingo Este, the official highlighted that logistical preparation began last February. This advance work allowed for covering all critical areas necessary for the proper functioning of the school system.
Priorities for the new academic term

All preparations have been made in advance. We began the work in February and all pedagogical, enrollment, infrastructure, and teacher preparation situations are ready.
