Edesur intensifies fight against electricity fraud and arrests 19 people

The company Edesur Dominicana has reinforced its inspection and control operations throughout Greater Santo Domingo, with the aim of eradicating illegal connections and other irregularities that affect the stability of its electrical grids. These actions are part of a continuous strategy to guarantee transparency and efficiency in energy service.

Results of the September operations

As a result of the work carried out by the Operational Department Against Fraud during the current month of September, the authorities have managed to arrest 19 individuals. According to the official report, among those apprehended are:

  • Fourteen members of brigades belonging to contractor companies of the institution.
  • Five private individuals linked to fraudulent maneuvers.

Edesur reiterates that it maintains supervision and control mechanisms over the activities carried out by contractor companies and that, in the event of any action that deviates from the established procedures, the corresponding measures will be adopted, both with respect to those directly responsible and the contractor companies where appropriate.
