The grand finale of the competition was the stage where Santana managed to prevail over his peers, captivating both the jury and the audience with an impeccable performance of the hit Tu amor me hace bien. Thanks to this performance, the artist was awarded a prize of 100,000 dollars, setting a historic precedent by being the first winner of this format on U.S. soil.
A path of perseverance and artistic evolution
Wandy Santana’s career has been a constant evolution. The young performer, who had already captured the public’s attention in 2021 following his participation in The Voice Dominicana, used that experience as a springboard to perfect his vocal and stage skills.
Five years after his first steps on Dominican television, Santana decided to bet on the demanding format of the Academy. Since joining the program, the Dominican demonstrated his versatility, starting with an outstanding salsa version of “La quiero a morir,” a song originally by Francis Cabrel, with which he managed to secure his place among the selected participants.
Their performance throughout the weeks was on an upward trajectory, consistently managing to stand out among the contestants and eventually obtaining the immunity granted by the jury, which reaffirmed their position as one of the favorites in the competition.
With this triumph, Wandy Santana closes a learning cycle and opens the doors to a promising professional career, carrying the Dominican flag high and demonstrating that discipline and talent are fundamental keys to achieving success in the competitive entertainment industry.
