Dodgers define stellar rotation for the start of the Championship Series

The Los Angeles Dodgers have outlined their pitching strategy for the start of the National League Championship Series against the Milwaukee Brewers. Manager Dave Roberts confirmed that Tarik Skubal will take responsibility on the mound for the first game this Sunday, looking to set the tone from the start of the series.

For the second matchup, scheduled for this Monday at American Family Field, it will be Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s turn. The pitcher, who was a key piece in the last World Series victory, arrives with the confidence of his coaching staff after an outstanding performance in the previous round.

Positive balance in the Divisional Series

The performance of both pitchers in the Division Series against the Atlanta Braves supports Roberts’ decision. Skubal shone in the first game by completing six innings of work, limiting the opposing offense to just one run and two hits, in addition to recording seven strikeouts in the Angels’ 5-3 victory.

For his part, Yamamoto demonstrated his dominance in the third matchup, where he worked seven full innings, allowed just four hits and struck out 10 batters, consolidating the Dodgers’ advancement after eliminating Atlanta in four games.

Roster adjustments and Miguel Rojas’ status

The Dodgers’ management is evaluating final adjustments to their pitching staff for the best-of-seven series. The team is considering the possibility of adding a new pitcher, which would require dropping a position player before the official roster submission this Sunday.

On the medical front, the focus is on Miguel Rojas. The 37-year-old veteran, who has suggested that this could be his final season as a professional, experienced lower back discomfort during the previous series. However, the news is encouraging following his recent participation in defensive drills and batting practice.

The day has been positive for Rojas, but we will maintain constant observation of his physical progress before making a final determination regarding his participation on the field.
