Anti-drug operation: DNCD intercepts garments impregnated with cocaine in the National District
In a recent strategic action, agents of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), in close collaboration with the Public Ministry, managed to thwart an attempt to traffic controlled substances. The operation took place at the facilities of an international shipping company located in the National District, where an illicit shipment hidden in clothing was detected.
The discovery originated during routine verification and inspection tasks carried out by authorities at logistics centers. During the process, one of the DNCD’s canine units reacted positively to a specific box, alerting officers to the possible presence of narcotics inside.
Seizure details
Following established legal protocols and under the direct supervision of the prosecutor in charge of the case, the agents proceeded to open the suspicious package. After an exhaustive review of the merchandise, five polo shirts were discovered that had been treated with a whitish powder, which, due to its characteristics, is presumed to be cocaine.
The seized garments have been placed in the custody of the competent authorities to carry out the necessary laboratory analyses, which will determine with accuracy the weight and chemical nature of the detected substance.
