Blow to micro-trafficking in Sabana Perdida: DNCD dismantles distribution center

In a strategic operation against micro-trafficking in Greater Santo Domingo, agents of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) and representatives of the Public Ministry carried out a raid in the La Javilla sector, Sabana Perdida, managing to dismantle a point of sale and distribution of illicit substances.

The intervention, carried out under judicial order number 2026-AJ0084242, focused on a two-story residence located on Francisco Javier Street. According to intelligence work, the property was operated by an individual identified as “Bonao”.

Seizure details

During the search, authorities arrested 24-year-old Carla Marina Aristy, who was identified by officials as the romantic partner of the main suspect. Inside the master bedroom, specifically within a handbag, a significant quantity of narcotics was seized:

  • 192 portions of a white powder, presumably cocaine, weighing 510.2 grams.
  • 53 wraps of a vegetable substance, presumably marijuana, weighing 460.1 grams.
  • 42 doses of rocky material, presumably crack, weighing approximately 225 grams.

Surveillance system and other evidence

One of the most relevant findings was the sophisticated surveillance network installed on the property. Agents seized a system consisting of 16 security cameras and a digital video recorder (DVR), tools that, according to the DNCD, were used to monitor the surroundings and alert about the presence of the authorities.

In addition to the controlled substances, various items were seized, including:

  • A precision scale.
  • A cell phone and a video game console.
  • 55-inch television.
  • Cash (RD$3,450 and US$5) and a debit card.

The DNCD has reported that, due to the effectiveness of anti-drug trafficking operations in the area, sectors linked to organized crime have launched defamation campaigns on social media with the aim of discrediting the agents’ work.

The detainee has been placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal purposes, where she will face charges for violation of Law 50-88 on Drugs and Controlled Substances.
