Educational boost: 90 university scholarships awarded in Monseñor Nouel
With the goal of strengthening human capital and opening doors to professional growth for youth, the Council for the Development of Monseñor Nouel carried out the delivery of 90 university scholarships. This program is designed to benefit both recent high school graduates with an outstanding academic record and young people who are already pursuing their undergraduate studies.
The initiative contemplates a flexible financial coverage scheme, ranging from 50% to 100% of the total cost of the degree. Thanks to this support, beneficiaries will be able to continue their academic training at highly prestigious study centers in the region, such as the Universidad Católica del Cibao (UCATECI), the Universidad Adventista Dominicana (UNAD), and the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) campus in Bonao.
A commitment to the provincial future
The event, held at the Falcondo Club in Bonao, was attended by provincial authorities, business leaders, and the students’ families. Among the prominent figures present were Governor Adela Tejada, Executive Director of the Development Council Victoria Mejía, Senator Héctor Acosta, Deputy Orlando Martínez, and the President of the Chamber of Commerce, Francisco Sang.
Providing support to our young people so they can achieve a university degree constitutes a direct investment in the growth and sustainable progress of our entire society.
Adela Tejada, Governor of Monseñor Nouel
Million-dollar investment in education
This program represents a strategic investment of over 19 million pesos. These funds seek to eliminate the economic barriers that traditionally limit access to higher education, ensuring that young talent from Monseñor Nouel can complete their professional training without financial obstacles.
With this delivery, the Council for the Development of Monseñor Nouel reaffirms its vision of using education as the main engine for social mobility. The ultimate purpose is to train the leaders and professionals who will take on the challenges of local development, guaranteeing a more promising future for the province.
