Delcy Rodríguez will represent Venezuela at the UN General Assembly and will meet with Donald Trump
The Government of Venezuela has made it official that the acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, will participate in the United Nations General Assembly taking place in New York. The leader’s agenda includes a high-level meeting with the President of the United States, Donald Trump, scheduled for next Tuesday.
This delegation marks an important milestone in Venezuelan foreign policy, being the first time that a representative of the national Executive has attended this global forum since Nicolás Maduro’s visit in 2018. It should be remembered that Maduro is currently in U.S. custody following his arrest in Caracas during a military operation carried out last January.

Through a statement released on social media, the Venezuelan Ministry of Communication underscored the relevance of this trip, stating that Rodríguez will be in charge of conveying the nation’s official position before the international body.
Venezuela has managed to recover its status and has successfully rejoined the planet’s diplomatic dynamics thanks to the efforts made previously.

A historic meeting between leaders
For its part, the White House confirmed last Friday that the meeting between Trump and Rodríguez will take place on the sidelines of the summit in New York. This appointment represents an unprecedented event in the last decade, surpassing the time elapsed since the meeting held by Barack Obama and Nicolás Maduro at the 2015 Summit of the Americas in Panama.
With this move, a new chapter in bilateral relations is opened, while the international community watches with attention the results of this first formal approach between both administrations.
