David Collado oversees intensive sargassum cleaning work at Playa Rincón
The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, paid a visit this Saturday to Playa Rincón, located in Las Galeras, Samaná, with the goal of leading and supervising the cleaning efforts aimed at removing the sargassum affecting the coast. This intervention seeks to ensure an optimal environment for both the tourists visiting the area and the local residents.
During his tour, the official gave precise instructions to the operational teams to maintain the continuity of the work until the total cleaning of the area is achieved. Collado took the opportunity to express his gratitude to the staff and collaborators who have joined this joint effort to restore the beauty of the coastline.
Commitment to public access and local development
The minister reiterated the Dominican Government’s firm stance on ensuring free access to all beaches in the national territory. As Collado highlighted, it is an institutional priority to ensure that these natural spaces remain open, well-maintained, and available for the enjoyment of the entire population.

Support for Playa Rincón merchants

The goal is to provide them with assistance to dignify and improve their work areas, allowing them to carry out their commercial activities in suitable and more competitive facilities.

The operation has the active participation of various government institutions and relief agencies. These teams maintain a constant presence in the area to address the accumulation of seaweed and strengthen the infrastructure of this important tourist destination in the province of Samaná.
