Santo Domingo Norte celebrates the first collective graduation of the BTI program
The Mayor’s Office of Santo Domingo Norte marked a milestone in its educational management by celebrating the first collective municipal school graduation. The event, held at the Mirador Norte Park, brought together 800 young people from various public educational centers in the municipality, who were recognized after completing their school training under the support of the Well-being, Triumph, and Momentum (BTI) program.
The ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, and Mayor Betty Gerónimo, who led this event designed to ease the economic burden that graduation expenses represent for Dominican families.
Boosting youth and academic development
The BTI program has established itself as a fundamental pillar for the youth in the area. Through a 10-month schedule, this initiative not only provides financial support, but also fosters academic excellence through healthy competition and the integration of students into social impact projects.
During her recent accountability report, Mayor Betty Gerónimo highlighted her administration’s commitment to the professional future of young people, underscoring the following key achievements:
- Delivery of more than 400 technical scholarships to strengthen job training.
- Continuous support for school classes from the beginning to the end of their secondary stage.
- Cost reduction for households through the organization of free, large-scale graduation ceremonies.
This project was born from the need to support our families, ensuring that the students’ effort is celebrated with dignity and without economic barriers hindering their path to academic success.

A celebration in style
To close the recognition day on a high note, the council organized a special concert for the graduates and their families. The event featured the participation of urban artists Bulin 47 and Crazy Design, who added a festive touch to this educational achievement, which represents an important step for the future of Santo Domingo Norte.
