Security strengthened in Hatillo: Construction of modern police station begins

With the goal of transforming citizen security in San Cristóbal, the Provincial Development Directorate, under the leadership of José Andújar, held the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new Type I police station in the municipal district of Hatillo. The project, which has an estimated investment of RD$22 million, seeks to provide officers with a dignified and functional space for the performance of their duties.

The building has been designed under modern standards to optimize police operations and public service. Among the facilities that the new unit will offer, the following stand out:

  • Specialized areas for receiving complaints and a waiting room.
  • Separate dormitories for male and female officers, including a room for the commander.
  • An exclusive department for investigations (DICRIM).
  • Support infrastructure: weapons storage, kitchen, and bathrooms.
  • Differentiated cells for men and women.
  • Administrative spaces and a technical area for technology servers.

We are responding to a need in Hatillo. This station will allow our officers to have better conditions to carry out their work and for citizens to receive closer and more efficient service.

José Andújar, Director of Provincial Development

During the formal ceremony, Andújar emphasized the institution’s commitment to the development of social infrastructure that positively impacts the quality of life of Dominicans. According to the official, this project is part of a comprehensive plan to ensure that every community has the necessary facilities for maintaining public order and tranquility.

The new police headquarters will not only benefit the inhabitants of Hatillo, but will also serve as a strategic response point for the surrounding communities, significantly improving reaction time and the effective presence of authorities in the area.
