Government and Mayor’s Office promote road transformation in Arroyo Barril, Samaná
The municipality of Arroyo Barril, in the province of Samaná, is experiencing notable progress in local infrastructure thanks to the execution of a strategic plan for the construction of concrete alleys. These works are the result of joint efforts between the central government, the local mayor’s office, and community leaders, seeking to optimize mobility and the urban environment for resident families.
Project details and intervened areas
The initiative is part of the Presidency’s Special Projects and includes the improvement of seven strategic roads in various sectors. So far, the execution schedule reflects positive progress, with three of these routes already completed and operational.
- La Patrona: Scheduled intervention for the improvement of a key alleyway.
- Los Básque: Sector where the construction of two new alleyways is planned.
The monitoring of these works is under the direct supervision of Rolfi Rojas, president of the Presidential Commission for Neighborhood Development Support, and Héctor Luis Bautista, vice president of the institution, who maintain constant communication with community representatives to ensure the completion of the works.
Coordination between the Mayor’s Office and central government agencies allows for the transformation of commitments made to communities into concrete works that directly impact the quality of life of the residents.

Mayor Luis Felipe Fermín highlighted the support received from the national Executive, stressing that this collaboration is fundamental to resolving the historical demands of the inhabitants of Arroyo Barril. In addition to improving physical access to homes, these concrete structures increase the health and safety of the neighborhood environment.
The municipal authorities have ratified their willingness to continue working together to finish the pending roads, reaffirming that this project is only part of a broader agenda aimed at addressing the social priorities of the various sectors that make up the area.
