Dominican government promotes the construction of Ciudad Presidente Antonio Guzmán in Santiago
The Dominican government has taken a firm step in the housing development of the northern region, confirming that preparations for the construction of the first 600 homes of the Ciudad Presidente Antonio Guzmán project in Santiago are in an advanced stage.
During the news segment The Weekly Agenda, authorities detailed that the investment allocated for the preparation of the land amounts to approximately RD$400 million. These funds have been executed in the construction of basic infrastructure works, such as streets, avenues, sidewalks, and curbs, which are essential elements to guarantee the habitability and connectivity of the future residential complex.
A comprehensive project under the Happy Family Plan
This ambitious housing plan is integrated directly into the Happy Family National Housing Plan, a state initiative designed to facilitate access to decent housing for low- and middle-income families. According to official data, the first two projects of this initiative already have their respective tenders and land sales, which clears the way for the immediate start of the construction phase of the housing units.
The central objective is to develop communities that integrate essential services, allowing families not only to have a roof over their heads, but an environment with adequate conditions for their integral development.
Urban development model
The authorities highlighted that Ciudad Presidente Antonio Guzmán follows the line of success achieved with previous projects such as Ciudad Juan Bosch in Santo Domingo Este. The government’s vision is not limited to the handing over of keys, but to the creation of spaces that incorporate educational, commercial, and health services, as well as recreational areas.
The execution of this project is supported by the trust model, guaranteeing transparency and efficiency in the use of resources. With the start of these first 600 units, Santiago prepares to receive a significant transformation in its housing supply, reaffirming the State’s commitment to reducing the housing deficit in the country.
