Democratic milestone: PLD presidential candidates star in unprecedented debate in DR
The Dominican Republic set a historic precedent in its political culture this Sunday with the celebration of RD Debate. This event became the first public meeting broadcast on a large scale where figures from the same political organization, in this case the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), confronted their visions ahead of the presidential candidacy.
The stage featured the participation of leaders Luis de León, Manfred Mata, Francisco Javier García, and Francisco Domínguez Brito. During the exchange, the candidates addressed the most sensitive topics on the national agenda, including economic challenges, social issues, and the strengthening of state institutions.
