Nathanael Elena Matos, known in the criminal world as “Bebo La Falacia,” died this Thursday afternoon after being seriously wounded during an operation carried out by agents of the Central Directorate of Investigation (Dicrim) in the Mendoza sector, Santo Domingo East.

The incident took place on Benigno Castro Street. According to preliminary reports, the individual was rushed to the Doctor Darío Contreras Hospital following the confrontation, where he ultimately lost his life while receiving medical attention due to the gunshot wounds sustained during the exchange of fire with the authorities.

Details of the police operation

According to the information provided by the National Police spokesperson, Diego Pesqueira, the confrontation originated at the moment when officers were attempting to execute arrest warrant number 973-2025-EMES-11228. Matos was actively sought by the authorities on charges of robbery and criminal association.

During the intervention, the police officers managed to seize the following items:

  • A Glock brand pistol, 9 millimeter caliber.
  • Three casings collected at the scene.
  • A motorcycle that was reported stolen.

The incident occurred during an exchange of gunfire in the Mendoza sector, where the law enforcement agency managed to seize the weapon used by the deceased and recover a vehicle reported as stolen.

This event sets a significant precedent, as it represents the first recorded death during a police intervention under the administration of Major General Ernesto R. Rodríguez García, who assumed the General Directorate of the National Police on August 17th.
