A renewed management firm
During the installation session of the Second Ordinary Legislature of 2026, the formation of the directive board that will accompany Pacheco in his duties was made official:

Alfredo Pacheco’s tenth election marks a milestone in Dominican politics, highlighting his staying power and his influence on the country’s parliamentary structure.
Legislative priorities and modernization
As this new term begins, the Speaker of the Lower House outlined an ambitious work agenda. Among the priority topics that will occupy parliamentary debate are the reform of the Labor Code, the update of the Social Security Law, and the implementation of digital tools in judicial and administrative processes.
Likewise, the agenda includes the study of the Civil Code, the Water Law, and the Mental Health Law, projects that have been classified as essential for the country’s institutional development.
Innovation and improvements in the hemicycle
Beyond legal reforms, Pacheco announced plans to optimize the operability of the legislative body. Among these measures, the implementation of a modern electronic validation system for voting stands out, replacing the current mechanism that has become obsolete.
Additionally, adaptation work will be carried out in the hemicycle. These improvements include the provision of an exclusive space for invited officials, seeking greater comfort and efficiency in the development of ordinary and extraordinary sessions.
With the start of this administration, the Chamber of Deputies prepares for a key period, marked by the expectation of advancing high-impact initiatives for Dominican society under Pacheco’s experienced leadership.
