Gigantes del Cibao intensify their preparation with the arrival of key figures
The Gigantes del Cibao have taken an important step in structuring their team with a view toward the 2026-2027 season. The San Francisco de Macorís franchise recently welcomed three high-level players who promise to raise the team’s competitive level during preseason training.
The group of additions is led by Major League catcher Agustín Ramírez, who joins the team to contribute his offensive power. After an outstanding performance splitting time between Triple-A and the highest level of professional baseball, Ramírez is shaping up to be a fundamental piece for the northeasterners’ run production.
Impact reinforcements for pitching and defense
The pitching staff also receives a significant boost with the arrival of Antonio Santos. The right-hander arrives at training camp following a successful campaign in Mexican baseball, where he demonstrated dominance from the mound:
- 10-3 record.
- 3.95 ERA.
- 93.1 innings pitched.
- 71 strikeouts recorded.
- 1.24 WHIP.
Likewise, versatility on the field is guaranteed with the integration of Pablo Reyes. The player, capable of defending both the infield and the outfield, arrives with the momentum of an excellent Triple-A season, where he recorded a .330 batting average, hit 28 doubles, 10 home runs, and drove in 64 runs, in addition to showing his speed with 21 stolen bases.
The arrival of these players reinforces our commitment to presenting a highly competitive team. The experience and versatility they bring are fundamental to achieving our goals in this upcoming campaign.
With these additions, the Gigantes del Cibao continue to consolidate their roster, focused on maximizing their depth and raising the intensity in their daily practices before the official start of the season in Dominican winter baseball.
