Government delivers 224 new apartments at the Laderas del Este Residential complex

The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, together with the Minister of Housing and Buildings (MIVED), Jean Luis Rodríguez, led the delivery of 224 new apartments in the Laderas del Este Residential complex, located in the municipality of San Antonio de Guerra. This initiative seeks to transform the quality of life for more than 800 people who were living in vulnerable conditions.

During the event, Minister Jean Luis Rodríguez emphasized that the main commitment of his administration is to complete public works and ensure they reach those who need them most. “Today we are here to deliver. And that word, deliver, represents very well what we want to characterize this new stage of the Ministry,” the official noted.

Public works truly fulfill their purpose when they are completed, when obstacles are cleared, and, above all, when they reach the people.

Housing project details

The Laderas del Este Residential is an ambitious project that includes a total of 976 housing units. With the delivery of this second stage, the Government reaffirms its commitment to the country’s housing development. Each unit has 65.93 square meters, distributed as follows:

  • Three bedrooms and one bathroom.
  • Living room, dining room, and kitchen.
  • Balcony and laundry area.
  • One assigned parking space.

The complex also offers recreation areas, green zones, modern sanitary and electrical facilities, in addition to being strategically located near educational centers, the Ciudad Juan Bosch Hospital, and public transport stops.

Investment and social focus

The total investment in this project amounts to RD$568 million, resulting from a combination of private capital and a state subsidy through the National Housing Fund (FONVIVIENDA). The selection process for the beneficiary families was rigorous, prioritizing those households with the greatest economic needs and special conditions, including families with members with disabilities.

Leonardo Aguilera, executive president of Banco de Reservas, highlighted the importance of this achievement for the new owners: “As of today, these spaces cease to be part of a construction project and become part of your personal stories,” he pointed out during the ceremony.

The event was attended by provincial authorities, legislators, and representatives of the construction sector, who celebrated together with the beneficiary families the completion of this stage, which guarantees stability and a dignified future for the inhabitants of San Antonio de Guerra.
