Boosting the Dominican agricultural sector with the new Assisted Credit project
The Agricultural Bank of the Dominican Republic (Bagrícola), together with the Ministry of Agriculture, has marked a milestone in the development of the national countryside with the official launch of the Assisted Credit program. This ambitious initiative has an investment of 120 million dollars, aimed at transforming the reality of local producers through more efficient access to financing and robust technical assistance.
The project, which has the strategic backing of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the French Development Agency (AFD), seeks to promote sustainable agricultural practices that guarantee the long-term success of productive projects.
Technical training and innovation
During the event, held at the ISA University facilities, a new cohort of the Diploma in Agricultural Extension and Innovation also began. The main objective of this academic program is to enhance the capabilities of professionals from Agriculture and the Bagrícola, who act as key facilitators for producers to implement new technologies in their daily work.

The Minister of Agriculture, Francisco Oliverio Espaillat Bencosme, stressed that this project is fundamental to strengthening the agricultural extension system, which will translate directly into greater productivity for the sector. For his part, the administrator of Bagrícola, Fernando Durán, emphasized the need for national agriculture to evolve at the pace of modern times.
