In an exciting race at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Ryan Blaney emerged victorious, securing a crucial triumph in the opening of the second round of the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs. Blaney, driving his number 12 Ford, led a total of 116 laps, including the last 39, demonstrating remarkable skill on the track. Despite the intense pressure exerted by Josh Berry, who finished in second place, Blaney managed to remain calm and secure the victory by a margin of 0.937 seconds.
This victory represents the third of the season and the sixteenth of his career for Blaney, who seeks to secure a place in the championship final for the third consecutive year. With this triumph, Blaney becomes the first driver to advance to the next round of the playoffs. That was probably the 20 most difficult laps I’ve driven. I was trying to maintain my position and push Josh a bit, but then he really started to close in. I had to push myself to the limit to keep him at bay, trying new lines. It was a good, clean race. I thank Josh for not using the bumper when he could have.

Ford’s performance was outstanding throughout the weekend, with Joey Logano securing the pole position and leading a large number of laps. William Byron, the highest-ranked Chevrolet driver, finished in third place. The competition on the track intensified with an incident between Joe Gibbs Racing teammates. Denny Hamlin and Ty Gibbs were involved in a crash that generated controversy and questions. Hamlin, after the incident, expressed his frustration over the radio, suggesting that his teammate, Ty Gibbs, might be receiving preferential treatment. Gibbs, for his part, avoided commenting on the incident. The next race of the second round of the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs will take place at Kansas Speedway. It was definitely an incredible day. My respects to Ryan at the end. All of our cars were really strong, and Ryan did a great job there. Honestly, I was surprised to be able to keep him at bay at the end.
