NASCAR Reveals a Renewed Schedule for 2026

The 2026 NASCAR season promises renewed excitement with the inclusion of new tracks and the return of classic events. The calendar, which runs from February to November, presents significant changes that seek to maintain competitiveness and the interest of the fans. One of the most notable new features is the incorporation of a street race in San Diego, which is added to the already established ones. In addition, the Chicagoland Speedway returns to the calendar, after a period of absence. The All-Star Race will move to Dover, Delaware, while the season will conclude at Homestead-Miami Speedway, marking the end of a 38-race series. The schedule will include two free weekends, a change from the current season. The season will kick off with the Clash at Bowman-Gray Stadium on February 1, followed by the Daytona 500 on February 15. The season finale will be on November 8 in Homestead, Florida, home of the final for 18 consecutive years before NASCAR moved it to Phoenix Raceway in 2020. Chicagoland’s return comes after a six-year hiatus, and the San Diego race will be held on a military base in Coronado. To accommodate these new additions, the Chicago street race and the Mexico City race will not be on the calendar. Other adjustments include moving the date of Watkins Glen, in New York, to Mother’s Day weekend, and relocating the All-Star race from North Wilkesboro to Dover, allowing North Wilkesboro to host a points race for the Cup.
