Tension at Joe Gibbs Racing after incident between Hamlin and Gibbs

In the world of motorsports, calm has returned to Joe Gibbs Racing after the incident between teammates Denny Hamlin and Ty Gibbs. The clash between Hamlin and Gibbs, which occurred in New Hampshire, generated controversy. Hamlin, who is in the playoffs and competing for his first Cup Series championship, crashed into Gibbs. After the incident, Hamlin questioned over the radio whether the organization was afraid to give team orders to the 22-year-old young driver.

I definitely got too angry and it was too far on my part.

Hamlin admitted that he went too far and that there were things he could have done differently. Christopher Bell, JGR teammate, made it clear that Toyota drivers must respect each other on the track.

We shouldn’t crash. That was very clear and obviously incorrect and hopefully it won’t happen again.

Meanwhile, Chase Briscoe, also a JGR driver, achieved his seventh pole position of the year, leading the grid in Kansas. Kyle Larson, Hendrick Motorsports driver, believes it’s appropriate for Briscoe and Hamlin to race cleanly at the beginning. Larson pointed out that the expectations on how Hendrick drivers should race are clearly defined. The situation has generated a debate about sportsmanship and team orders in the competition.
