Chase Elliott starred in a surprising victory at Kansas Speedway, securing his spot in the third round of the NASCAR playoffs.
An Unpredictable Career
Elliott, starting from eighth position, achieved a spectacular comeback in the last two laps of the race, surpassing his competitors to cross the finish line in first place. This unexpected victory left everyone surprised, especially after a race largely dominated by Denny Hamlin.Hamlin, who led for 159 laps, was affected by problems in the pit stops and other setbacks that prevented him from achieving his desired 60th career victory. The race was full of yellow flags in the final stages, which altered the course of the competition and put Bubba Wallace in a favorable position for the victory. An incident with Zane Smith, who suffered a rollover with his car, stopped the race and set the stage for a final restart full of tension. In the final restart, Wallace and Christopher Bell battled side-by-side for the victory. However, Hamlin, emerged from nowhere, and Wallace brushed the wall while trying to defend himself from his boss. It was then that Elliott took advantage of the situation, overtaking Hamlin to secure his second victory of the season. What a crazy finish! I hope everyone enjoyed it. I certainly did.
Chase Elliott

Hamlin, visibly disappointed, finished in second place. The three-time Daytona 500 winner was desperately seeking the victory to secure his place in the next round and achieve his goal of 60 Cup victories.I wasn’t going to lift off the gas, so I didn’t know what was going to happen. In the end, it was what it was. At that moment, we were all committed. It was great to start eighth on the restart and somehow win with a green and white flag. Pretty good.
Chase Elliott
Bell and Chase Briscoe, Hamlin’s teammates, rounded out the top four.Wallace, despite finishing fifth, was satisfied with his performance, considering the difficulties his car faced at the beginning of the race. Despite the situation, Wallace was sportsmanlike with Hamlin and shook his hand in the pit lane. The next playoff race will be held at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval, where Kyle Larson took the victory last year. After this race, the playoff field will be reduced to eight drivers. The four drivers at risk of elimination before the race are Ross Chastain, Austin Cindric, Reddick, and Wallace.Simply very disappointing. I really wanted it. It would have been my 60th. Obviously, I got very, very tight with Wallace, and it got very tight and we let Elliott win.
Denny Hamlin
Obviously, there’s only one thing we can do in Charlotte (win), and that’s what we’ll focus on.
