Aaron Pico officially joins the UFC
Featherweight fighter Aaron Pico has signed an exclusive contract with the UFC, according to his manager, Ali Abdelaziz.
The UFC has not yet confirmed the date of Pico’s debut, but the fighter himself has stated that he is in full preparation and hopes to compete as soon as possible.
Pico, 28 years old, has a record of 13 wins and 4 losses. His entire career in mixed martial arts (MMA) has been developed in Bellator MMA, an organization with which he signed in 2014, three years before his professional debut.
Initially, he was considered one of the most promising talents in MMA history, thanks to his solid experience in amateur wrestling and boxing.
After a start with a record of 4 wins and 3 losses, competing against rivals with more experience in MMA, Pico has achieved an impressive performance, winning nine of his last ten fights.
I was on my way to contend for the Bellator featherweight championship, before the promotion ceased operations this year.
UFC CEO Dana White had publicly expressed interest in signing Pico earlier this year. Of his 13 victories, nine have been by knockout. Prior to this addition, Pico was considered one of the best fighters in the world outside of the UFC.
