Pereira, with a record of 14-3, showed a dominant performance in the rematch, marking a notable difference from their previous encounter, where he lost the title by decision. Saturday’s victory was a clear indication that Pereira was not in optimal physical condition in March, when he relinquished the title. In the rematch, his aggressiveness was evident from the start. The fighter came out with impetus from his corner, knocking down Ankalaev with a powerful right hand and finishing the fight with elbows from the top position.Before the rematch, it was revealed that Pereira had fought in March with a fractured tibia.
