In the main event of Saturday’s UFC Fight Night, Reinier de Ridder began by dominating the grappling match, showing his initial superiority. However, after Brendan Allen withstood the first round, he took control of the fight, wearing down de Ridder to the point where, at the end of rounds 3 and 4, he could barely stand up and return to his corner. His coach stopped the fight before the fifth round began.It was a standout performance by Allen, who was not originally scheduled for this fight. De Ridder was supposed to face Anthony Hernandez, but the latter withdrew due to an injury, giving Allen the opportunity.Allen, with his performance, sent a forceful message to the middleweight division and altered the balance of power in Alofoke Deportes’ divisional ranking. He is now ahead of de Ridder.The only other weight category with changes in these rankings is heavyweight, because Francis Ngannou has not fought in over a year and was removed due to ineligibility.
