Byron Buxton Returns to Action After Concussion

The Minnesota Twins have activated center fielder Byron Buxton from the seven-day concussion injured list. The news comes just before the start of a three-game series against the Seattle Mariners. Buxton was out of the game for two weeks, after a collision with shortstop Carlos Correa while both were chasing a fly ball.

Correa was also subjected to the concussion protocol, but his time off was shorter, fulfilling the minimum of seven days.

To make room on the roster, pitcher Carson McCusker was optioned back to Triple-A St. Paul.

Before the injury, Buxton had a batting average of .261, an OPS of .834, and 18 extra-base hits, including 10 home runs. In addition, he accumulated 33 runs scored, 27 RBIs, and eight stolen bases in his first 41 games.
