Trevor Story Hits Unusual Home Run at Fenway Park
In an unusual encounter at Fenway Park on Monday, Boston’s Trevor Story hit a home run that left everyone astonished. The hit, which initially seemed destined to be a normal play, ended unexpectedly.
In the sixth inning of the game against Cleveland, Story faced right-handed pitcher Jakob Junis. The batter hit a line drive that traveled 306 feet down the right field line.
Jhonkensy Noel, the outfielder, attempted a spectacular catch, but the ball grazed his glove and then hit the famous “Pesky Pole”. Story stopped at second base while the umpires gathered to review the play.
Initially, the umpires declared the play a foul, but after a video review, crew chief Jordan Baker announced that the decision had been reversed. The hit was declared a home run, awarding Story his 23rd home run and putting the score at 6-3 in favor of Boston.
