Luis Robert Jr. to the Injured List; Jonathan Cannon Returns

The Chicago White Sox have placed outfielder Luis Robert Jr. on the 10-day injured list due to a left hamstring strain. In turn, right-handed pitcher Jonathan Cannon has been reinstated from the 15-day injured list. Cannon was the starter in Sunday’s game against San Francisco. Robert, who was an All-Star in 2023, suffered the injury during Wednesday’s victory against the Arizona Diamondbacks. In 73 games, his batting average is .185, with eight home runs and 32 RBIs. The White Sox announced that they will make a corresponding move on the roster on Tuesday, before the start of their series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Cannon had been placed on the injured list on June 3 due to a lower back strain. During a rehab outing with Triple-A Charlotte, he pitched three scoreless innings. So far this season, his record is 2-7, with an ERA of 4.66 in 12 games, including 10 starts. In a related move, Chicago sent right-handed pitcher Wikelman Gonzalez (0-0, 4.50 ERA) to Charlotte.
