Jung Hoo Lee makes a spectacular catch

San Francisco Giants center fielder Jung Hoo Lee may have made the catch of the year. The play generated a great stir on social media.

Yandy Díaz’s hit from Tampa Bay went to the center-right field of Oracle Park, known as “Triples Alley”. Lee, with a demonstration of agility and reflexes, starred in a memorable play.

Lee ran to his left and, as he slid, the ball bounced off his glove. The ball hit his left thigh and rolled towards his left calf before rising. In an act of impressive control, he caught it between his knees and secured it with his glove.

The 26-year-old South Korean player, known for his speed, has become a fan favorite in San Francisco. He signed a six-year, $113 million contract before the 2024 season.

Lee has possibly been the Giants’ best player this season, playing regularly after his rookie season was cut short to 26 games due to an injury. He recovered from season-ending surgery for a dislocated left shoulder, suffered when crashing into a wall in the outfield.
