ARLINGTON, Texas – The Texas Rangers have placed outfielder Evan Carter on the 10-day injured list this Sunday. The decision was made a day after Carter was scratched late due to a right quadriceps injury.
Kevin Pillar, also an outfielder, was activated from the injured list after being out of action for two weeks due to lower back inflammation. Pillar started in right field this Sunday against the Houston Astros.
Manager Bruce Bochy indicated that he expects Carter to be out of action for about two weeks due to the quadriceps strain.

Carter began this season in the minor leagues while continuing with adjustments to his swing to try to alleviate the tension in his back. Batting .182 in 11 games, mainly playing in center field.
Pillar played in all three outfield positions, participating in 18 games before the back injury. The 36-year-old player has a batting average of .237.
The Rangers called up right-handed pitcher Caleb Boushley from Triple-A Round Rock and optioned right-handed pitcher Cole Winn to Round Rock, four days after Winn was called up and Boushley was sent down. It’s the third time Boushley has been with the Rangers this season. Winn made one appearance.
