MLB Suspends Suárez and Managers for Padres vs Dodgers Incidents

1 Min Read

The Major League Baseball (MLB) has suspended San Diego Padres reliever Robert Suárez for three games and an undisclosed fine. This decision comes a day after it was determined that Suárez intentionally hit Los Angeles Dodgers star player Shohei Ohtani with a pitch.

Suárez has announced that he will appeal the imposed sanction.

In addition, Padres manager Mike Shildt and his Dodgers counterpart, Dave Roberts, have been suspended for one game and fined for “unsportsmanlike conduct and for contributing to inciting the incident that emptied the benches.”

Both managers will serve their suspensions on Friday night in their respective team’s matches.
