Daulton Varsho Leaves Game with Injury

The Toronto Blue Jays’ center fielder, Daulton Varsho, had to leave Saturday’s game against the Athletics due to an apparent left leg injury.

The situation occurred in the third inning. Varsho felt discomfort in the back of his thigh after connecting a hit that hit the wall between left and center field. After rounding second base, he took a few steps and fell near third base, where he was put out by third baseman Max Schuemann.

Athletic trainers attended to Varsho on the field and, fortunately, he was able to walk off on his own. Myles Straw replaced him in the game.

Varsho had already been out at the beginning of the season due to shoulder surgery performed last year. In the 24 games he has played, he has a .207 average, with eight home runs and 20 RBIs.
