ESPN Breaks Audience Records in Baseball Wild Card Series

The sports network has set new audience milestones during the Baseball Wild Card Series, primarily driven by a notable increase in the number of viewers belonging to younger demographic groups.

On Monday, it was reported that Game 3 of the series between the [Boston Red Sox](/mlb/team/_/name/bos/boston-red-sox) and the [New York Yankees](/mlb/team/_/name/nyy/new-york-yankees) reached an average of 7,439,000 viewers. This figure represents a record for a single Wild Card Series game under the current format. In addition, it became the most-watched baseball event on the network since the matchup between Boston and the Yankees in the 2021 Wild Card game.

On average, the series attracted 4,625,000 viewers across the 11 games, setting a new high for the current format. The under-35 demographic experienced an 89% increase compared to the previous year, while the under-17 audience increased by 108%. Overall, the total audience for the Wild Card Series grew by 64% compared to the previous year.
