Alejandro Kirk to the injured list with a concussion
The Toronto Blue Jays have placed catcher Alejandro Kirk on the seven-day concussion injured list, sources reported.
The incident occurred on Saturday, during the 6-1 victory against the Detroit Tigers, when Kirk was hit in the mask by a foul tip in the second inning.
Kirk, 26, has had a standout season, batting .304, with seven home runs and 47 RBIs in 88 games.
To cover Kirk’s absence, the Blue Jays have called up catcher Ali Sanchez from Triple-A Buffalo.
