HOUSTON – Houston Astros shortstop Jeremy Peña was removed from Sunday night’s game against the Seattle Mariners due to left oblique discomfort.The announcement was made by the team approximately 90 minutes before the start of the game.Peña was originally slated to open the game and play shortstop. Mauricio Dubon was the one who replaced him in the lineup as shortstop, Dubon was slated to play in left field.Zach Cole entered the lineup, batting eighth and playing right field, while Jesús Sánchez moved from right field to left field.In the absence of Peña, José Altuve was moved from fourth to first in the batting order.So far this season, Peña is batting .304 with 17 home runs and 62 RBIs.
