Will Smith to the Dodgers’ Injured List
Star catcher Will Smith was placed on the 10-day injured list by the Los Angeles Dodgers due to a contusion on his right hand. The decision was retroactive to Wednesday.
The team called up catcher Chuckie Robinson from Triple-A Oklahoma City before their 13-7 victory over the Giants in San Francisco.
The current World Series champions lead the National League West Division by 2.5 games over San Diego.
Smith, 30, has been an All-Star for the last three seasons and has a batting average of .296 with 17 home runs, 61 RBIs, and an OPS of .901 in 110 games. This is the first time he has been on the injured list this year.
Robinson joins the Dodgers after being sent to Triple-A on Monday.
