Aaron Boone, Yankees Manager, Ejected for the Fifth Time This Season
In a game played on Sunday against the Houston Astros, New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone was ejected from the game for the fifth time this season. The incident occurred during the third inning of the game. The controversy arose from a called strike on a pitch thrown by Jason Alexander to Ryan McMahon. Boone, visibly upset by the decision, vehemently protested to the home plate umpire, Derek Thomas.Despite the ejection, Boone continued arguing for approximately one more minute, with the intervention of the third base umpire, Jordan Baker. McMahon’s at-bat finally concluded with a fly ball to center field. Last season, Boone was ejected six times. His last ejection before this was on July 23 in Toronto, for arguing a called strike on Anthony Volpe. Since taking over as manager in 2018, Aaron Boone has been ejected a total of 44 times. At the time of the ejection, the Astros were leading the score 2-0.“I’ve heard enough from you, Aaron,” replied umpire Thomas, before ejecting Boone.
