Phillies’ Alec Bohm Suffers Rib Fracture, Heads to Injured List
The Phillies’ third baseman, Alec Bohm, has been diagnosed with a fracture in his left rib and has been placed on the 10-day injured list.
Bohm’s injury occurred a week ago, when he was hit by a pitch from Yu Darvish, a player for the San Diego Padres. Bohm did not participate in Sunday’s game against the Padres, prior to the All-Star break, but he did play on Friday night against the [Los Angeles Angels](/mlb/team/_/name/laa/los-angeles-angels).
In the current season, Bohm has maintained a batting average of .278, with eight home runs and 42 RBIs in 92 games.
To cover Bohm’s absence from the roster, utility player Weston Wilson was called up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley before Saturday night’s game against the Angels.
