Altuve Leaves Game with Hamstring Discomfort

Houston Astros left fielder José Altuve was forced to leave Saturday night’s game against the Cincinnati Reds due to a right hamstring issue.

Altuve, 35, was replaced by pinch-hitter Brendan Rodgers with one out in the third inning, at which point Houston was losing 12-1.

In the first inning, Altuve drew a walk and scored thanks to a single by Yainer Díaz.

So far this season, Altuve is batting .259 with four home runs and 14 RBIs.

Although he has played mostly in left field this season, Altuve was in the lineup as second baseman on Saturday night.
