Chanettee Wannasaen, a prominent golfer, maintained her lead at the Kroger Queen City Championship, with a two-stroke advantage on Friday. The competition intensified with the participation of Jeeno Thitikul and Charley Hull, who made significant moves on the course. Wannasaen, at just 21 years old and seeking her third consecutive victory on the LPGA Tour, completed a round of 68 strokes, four under par, at TPC River’s Bend, which presented humid conditions. This brought her to a total of 131 strokes, 13 under par, after an impressive initial round of 63.

I just want to play this way. I don’t think about the score. I just want to hit the driver like this, hit the iron like that. I just want to enjoy golf again.

Thitikul and Hull were in a tie for second place, along with Olivia Cowan. Wannasaen achieved an eagle on a par 4 for the second consecutive day, this time on the 13th hole, his fourth hole of the day. He had already achieved this feat on the 10th hole during the first round.

Exactly the same, but I didn’t see the ball go in.

Thitikul, 22, completed a round of 64 strokes, including four consecutive birdies in the last nine holes. Thitikul had already won the Mizuho Americas Open in June, at Liberty National, thus achieving her fifth victory on the LPGA Tour.

I think I mainly tried to make putts here, for sure. The green is not easy, it has a lot of slope. And you need to judge the putt perfectly for it to go in the hole.

Hull achieved an eagle on the 11th hole, a par 5, and got birdies on the last two holes, finishing with a round of 65 strokes. The English golfer comes from obtaining second place in Houston, as part of the Aramco series on the Ladies European Tour.

I just aim at the flag, basically. I like attacking flags. Otherwise, I find it boring.

Charley Hull
Cowan, from Germany, tied Hull with a round of 65 strokes. Maja Stark (66), Sei Young Kim (68), and Gigi Stoll (69) were at 10 under par. Nelly Korda, ranked second, led the group at 9 under par after a round of 68 strokes. Korda has yet to achieve any victories this season.

You just have to stay really aggressive. The greens are pretty soft, so you can do it, but hitting the fairway and the greens is the key to having a putt.

Lydia Ko, the defending champion, completed a round of 69 strokes, reaching 5 under par. Alison Lee failed to make the cut in her first event after giving birth to a child in April, with rounds of 76 and 73 strokes.
