Víctor Pérez Joins LIV Golf: The First Signing of 2024
Professional golf is experiencing a new movement. Frenchman Victor Perez becomes the first player to leave the PGA Tour to join the Saudi league LIV Golf. The news was announced this Tuesday, confirming his incorporation into the Cleeks team. Pérez, who shared membership in the PGA Tour and the European Tour, has three titles on the European circuit. His participation in tournaments outside the PGA Tour this year was limited to the French Open. His best result on the PGA Tour was a tie for ninth place at the RBC Canadian Open. Pérez’s change occurs in replacement of Frederik Kjettrup, who was relegated from LIV Golf for not finishing among the top 48 in the points list. Víctor Pérez, ranked 108th in the FedEx Cup and at risk of losing his card, withdrew from the RSM Classic on Tuesday. The Cleeks are led by Martin Kaymer as captain, along with Adrian Meronk from Poland and Richard Bland.Joining the Cleeks Golf Club for the 2026 season feels like joining the next great chapter in golf, as this club continues to push boundaries, perform at the highest level, and bring fresh energy and vision to the game.
